Item Description
WordRezz V4.0 [ International Character Edition ] - Operating Instructions
WordRezz V4.0 is designed for language teachers and is ideal for dealing with vocabulary or structures. WordRezz will rez user-generated text as small blocks which can then be edited and moved around (think word order, vocabulary classification, etc.) or deleted. Words can be generated in any of five columns on the display, and can be deleted per column item or in total using the menu system, or by clicking on individual words.
GETTING STARTED
Pull WordRezz out of your Inventory and place it on the ground. Click the footbase for the user-menu:
- Rez
- Delete
- Permissions
The Rez menu
Select a column you would like to rez your new words in [ e.g. Rez 1 will rez new words in column 1 on the board ] . The next screen will ask you who should have permission to delete these new words - you can choose 'Tutor' if only you should be allowed to delete newly-created words during the class (you can delete an individual word by clicking on it) or 'Everyone' if you would like your students to be able to delete them too.
Once these settings have been deciced, you will be prompted to type the words you want to rez on channel 14. You should type tthem as a list, e.g.:
/14 The cat sat on the mat
or
/14 apple orange pear banana strawberry grapefruit
When you're happy with your list, hit enter and the words will be generated in the column you chose. Once the words are on the board (and depending on whether you chose 'Tutor' or 'Everyone' for deletion rights) clicking on a word will delete it. You can now right-click on a word and edit it to move it around and form lists or sentences. Note that these are created with transparent prims (to make things more legible) so you'll need to click carefully on the text to select it - if you have problems, try CTRL-ALT-T to turn on transparency, as this will make things easier to select.
The Delete Menu
Select a column you would like to delete words from (or 'All' if you want to clear the board). WordRezz will delete the selected words. If you accidentally forget to delete lists before picking up WordRezz, rez a copy of the included WordRezz Cleaner tool and click it to clear all generated lists in the vicinity.
The Permissions Menu
Select who should be allowed to use the tool: Owner, Group or Public
