Item Description
Say the name "Cher," and you immediately conjure up mental pictures of incredible Bob Mackie costumes loaded with sequins and bugle beads, fingernails 3 cm longer than her tips, gloriously exotic hairdresses and wigs. Cher has, for years, been one of the touchstones of outrageousness. Except that, in this costume, she is not that outrageous. Done for a Seventies photo spread in Vogue, Cher and Bob Mackie channeled the grace of Dior's New Look in black and silver, and gleaming crystal drop decoration on the breast and as earrings. A sweeping silver wrap surrounds her shoulders. She later wore the costume as part of a series of sketches on the Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. Part of Harper's Cher Series and Mackie Series. Beveled wood frame; black and white matting. 1 prim.
